The realistic Saint Thomas Aquinas statue by Demetz Art Studio is carved from beautiful linden wood in full round, or cast in fiberglass, and is painted with traditional oil colors to bring out the details. The statue depicts the saint with a book in his left hand and his right hand raised. According to tradition, Saint Thomas Aquinas is the patron saint of all universities and students. He was a priest and protector of the church and is considered one of the most influential theologians of all time. He was canonized in 1323.
