"The Ardagh" Celtic Chalice & Bowl Paten

"The Ardagh" Celtic Chalice from Matthew F. Sheehan is modeled after the original design by the same name.  The reproduction stands slightly taller than its namesake and features a slightly updated design.  The Chalice is adorned with an intricate Celtic pattern that is engraved along the cup, base and node as well as fire enameled cabochons.  The cup has a 20-ounce capacity and is polished on the inside.  The original Ardagh Chalice plays an important role in Irish history as it is one of the earliest Christian objects to be found in the country.
