The "Tassilo" Chalice and Paten
Bring a piece of history to your church's altar by choosing a "Tassilo" Chalice and Paten set from Matthew F. Sheehan. The set is designed by Artistic Silver and is a beautiful reproduction of the original eighth century piece. According to history, the "Tassilo" Chalice was commissioned for use during the wedding of the Duke Tassilo of Bavaria to the daughter of the Lombardian King. The Chalice is decorated with interlocking medallions that depict images of Christ and the Evangelists.
The "Tassilo" Chalice and Paten reproductions are just as beautiful as the original pieces. They feature a rich two-tone design and the Chalice's inner cup has a highly polished finish. While the original Tassilo Chalice and Paten are now housed in the Monastery of the Kemsmunster in Germany, you can bring a piece of history into your own church by ordering this stunning reproduction. When ordering, please choose your preferred construction type: brass, with a Sterling Silver cup or all Sterling Silver.
